What to Expect at a First Visit

A first consultation generally includes a discussion of a patient’s vision concerns and relevant medical history, followed by a comprehensive eye examination and the use of diagnostic imaging appropriate to the concern raised. Findings are reviewed and explained clearly, and where treatment may be appropriate, the options are discussed alongside expected outcomes and recovery, with time given to ask questions before deciding how to proceed.

A patient attending a first visit should bring any current glasses or contact lens prescription, a list of current medications, and details of relevant medical history e.g. diabetes and  family history of eye disease.
